Today I made up my mind and added a life goal to my list of endeavors. I will be an Ironman by the time I’m 30.
I have less than 7 years to fully train and I’m taking my time with it because I don’t just want to finish, but I want to be a true force to be reckoned with. I want to show that flamboyant, proud, and strong queers can be at the front of the pack.
My next big race is the SF marathon on July 29, 2012. After that I’ll begin training for the big endurance events of 2013. I’ll start off with the LA marathon in March, then follow it with the AIDS lifecycle in May, then another marathon in July, and finish the year with a mixed swim/cycle marathon.
That’s all I have for now, but it feels good to set a goal and new aspiration.
